Services
I’m Monica Belot, a copywriter and brand strategist based in New York. For more than 10 years I’ve written for global brands, agencies and fast-growing tech companies, from packaging and campaigns to SEO content and industry reports. I also teach brand strategy at NYU and Parsons, so every piece of copy starts with a clear strategy behind it.
Brands I’ve worked with: DoorDash, SevenRooms, CloudKitchens, Otter, Future Foods, L’Oreal, Dove, Avon, Morgan Stanley, Lidl and Nike.

Why brands work with me
Strategy first
Before writing a word, I define the audience, the message and the goal. It’s the same process I teach graduate students at NYU and Parsons School of Design.
Agency and in-house experience
I’ve written inside branding and design agencies such as forceMAJEURE and The Cooper Group, and directly with brand and marketing teams.
Research built in
Claims get sourced and data gets checked, so the copy holds up when a customer, an editor or an expert reads it.
How I work
01
Discovery
A short call to understand your goals, audience and what success looks like.
02
Strategy and outline
A messaging direction or content outline you approve before any drafting starts.
03
Writing and feedback
A first draft, your comments, and a refined version that sounds like your brand.
04
Ready to publish
Final copy delivered ready for your site or design team, with SEO metadata when needed.

Frequently asked questions
What does a freelance copywriter do?
A freelance copywriter writes the words a brand uses to sell and explain itself: website pages, campaigns, packaging, emails, articles and reports. As an independent writer, I work directly with your team on a project basis instead of through an agency.
Do you work with clients outside New York?
Yes. I’m based in New York and work with clients across the United States and internationally. Most projects run remotely, with calls and shared documents.
How much does a freelance copywriter cost?
It depends on the scope, the research involved and the timeline. Send me a short description of your project and I’ll reply with a proposal that lists what’s included and the full cost.
What industries do you write for?
Food and hospitality technology, consumer goods and beauty, spirits and beverages, financial services, real estate and design.
How do I get started?
Email me at monicabelot@gmail.com with a few lines about your project, your timeline and any examples you like. I’ll get back to you to set up a short discovery call.
Have a project in mind?
Tell me a bit about your brand, what you need and your timeline. I’ll reply within a few days.
