Services
I help brands decide who they are for, what they stand for and how they sound, then turn that strategy into names, identities, campaigns and copy. Over more than 10 years I’ve worked on brands such as Nike, Dove, Morgan Stanley, Lidl and L’Oreal, and I teach brand strategy to graduate students at NYU and Parsons School of Design.
Brand strategy and concept work for Nike, Dove, Avon, Morgan Stanley, Ruggable, Lidl and Oosten Williamsburg.
Brand strategy services
Brand positioning
A clear definition of who you serve, the problem you solve and why you’re the better choice, written so your whole team can use it.
Brand naming
Names for companies, products and developments, from creative territories to a final recommendation, like the Oosten condominium in Williamsburg.
Messaging and brand voice
Messaging frameworks, taglines and voice guidelines that keep your website, sales materials and campaigns consistent.
Consumer and market research
Competitor audits, trend analysis and audience research that ground the strategy in evidence, not opinions.
Brand loyalty and campaign strategy
Programs and campaign platforms that give customers a reason to come back, like the loyalty strategy I developed for Ruggable.
Concept development
Creative concepts for packaging, identity and launches, developed with your design team or agency partners.
Two ways to work together
Strategy only
A brand strategy your team or agency can run with: research, positioning, messaging and a clear roadmap.
Strategy plus execution →
I carry the strategy through into copy, naming, campaigns and website content, so nothing gets lost in translation.
Why work with me
I teach this for a living
I’m an Adjunct Professor at NYU and Parsons, teaching Brand Strategy, Analyzing Trends and Design Research. The frameworks I use are the ones I teach.
Agency-tested
I’ve worked on brand projects with agencies such as forceMAJEURE, The Cooper Group and The Seventh Art, for global brands and startups alike.
Strategy that ships
As a copywriter too, I write strategy that turns into real words on real pages, not a deck that sits in a drawer.

Frequently asked questions
What does a brand strategy consultant do?
A brand strategy consultant helps a company define its positioning, audience, value proposition, personality and messaging, so every decision about design, marketing and content comes from the same foundation.
What is included in a brand strategy?
Usually research, positioning, target audience, value proposition, brand personality, messaging and voice guidelines. Depending on the project it can also include naming, concept territories and a rollout plan.
How long does a brand strategy project take?
It depends on how much research is needed and how many people need to be involved. Focused projects can take a few weeks, while projects with customer research or naming take longer.
Do you work with startups or established brands?
Both. I’ve worked with global brands like Nike, Dove and Morgan Stanley and with growing companies like Ruggable.
Can you also write the copy?
Yes. I’m a copywriter as well, so I can turn the strategy into website copy, campaigns, packaging and content.
Have a project in mind?
Tell me a bit about your brand, what you need and your timeline. I’ll reply within a few days.
